Creating the perfect scary and believable villain is a difficult, yet imperative part of a horror trailer. As we wanted to keep them realistic, we thought about a hooded youth because there is a moral panic in our society about knife crime, which is led and enhanced by the media. There are so many stories in the news about 'hoodies' and knife crime at the moment. There is also a growing popularity of a new horror sub genre, the 'hoody horror'. F, Cherry Tree Lane and Eden Lake are 'hoody horror' films, all released in 2010/2011.
